Make Your Suppers Fun

We are trying to keep our suppers fun, it’s just a little thing, but it helps. At this time any little thing we can do to put a little fun in our lives is very important. Supper is maybe the most important time to create something that is fun. Right now people who are self isolating can fall into a serious trap. You stop doing certain things because your sort of trapped in your house. Things like staying in your pyjamas and not getting dressed, not really cooking just eating what’s easy. This can compound into what use to be called cabin fever, and that when very bad things can happen. We are self isolating yes, but we are still doing the same thing we did when we weren’t, that is an important part of staying mental well. Cooking fun meals for supper is an important part of that, silly things maybe, but fun. Our pub meal gave us good memories of our trip, manwiches the memories of how much our kids liked them. These simple things are important for everyone to do, I even sent a text to our kids to make sloppy joes. The response from them showed they understood that simple idea of having fun with supper. We maybe having to stay at home but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun. Find was to make this time have moments of fun and laughter and it becomes easier to self isolate. Tonight will be another fun supper for us with good memories.

I’m buying those variety packs of cereals for the kids so that every day they can have something different for breakfast. Or, too often, when they sneak them and just eat them whenever. One small thing so that the days aren’t all the same. And I buy some different kinds of junk and treats on the weekly shopping trips too now.
