It’s Not A Sloppy Joe, It’s A Manwich

70E735EA-9C95-4C54-8C33-B3E2DAED85F5The more fun we can have now the better for us, so a fun meal is a great thing to make. We use to make this when our kids were little, so let’s just say it’s been a long time since I have made this. The first time I remember having it my wife made  it. It maybe be it’s a Canadian thing, but you could even buy a can of manwich sauce in the stores, most people just call it a sloppy joe. The sauce is simple so why buy it. Whether you have it in a bun or manwich style it’s fun to eat on top of it tasting good. Manwich style is my choice, same filling but it goes between 2 slices of toast. Even when we had it with buns we always toasted the buns, because they didn’t get as soggy. I don’t know why as the kids got older we stopped making them but we did, and that is a shame. Honestly I liked them as much as our kids did and since we made them again it’s even more of a shame. So have a little fun with supper make manwiches or even the cousin sloppy joes. Next maybe we will make beans and wieners.

1 pound ground beef

1 onion minced

2 cloves garlic minced

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/2 can tomato soup

1 tablespoon ketchup

2 teaspoons vinegar

1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

In a small frying pan brown meat with onion, garlic, salt and pepper, drain. Return meat to frying pan, add the rest of the ingredients, mix well and simmer for one half hour. Serve on toast or toasted buns. A very good thing to have with it is a salad, which is what we had.
