Cooking What You Can Afford

Most people don’t cook with expensive products they cook with what they can afford. Yes for special occasions they spend a little more. This doesn’t mean you can’t make a great meal with inexpensive products, the cost of what you use isn’t what makes a great meal. What makes a great meal is the care you put cooking it and the love you put in it. Yes I have cooked bouillabaisse and used beef tenderloin for special occasions and will make meals with expensive products in the future. Everyday meals are different, I buy what’s on sale and try to make a good meal with it. It’s cooking that’s real not tv cooking. It’s what everyone does everyday. In other words it’s just how I cook, with care and love.

Couldn’t agree more! I find that some of the most fun meals to cook involve looking at the pantry and picking ingredients on hand to feature.

Yes, it’s fun to go searching the kitchen to find things you can put together to make a meal. It’s like when you start out with a plan and then find your out of some things for it, so you just hunt for other things that will work.
