Father’s Day, so I get to bbq steak. Steak is something I don’t mess with. It’s the keep it simple stupid rule. No bbq sauce, fancy bbq spices, or rubs.
4 really good steaks whichever type of steak you like. Should be 1 inch thick.
Sprinkle the steaks with pepper and lightly sprinkle with garlic powder. Set on the counter 2 hours before you cook them. Preheat your bbq to 600 degrees. Salt your steak and coat with olive oil. Place on bbq, 3 and 1/2 minutes per side. Turn a quarter turn after first 2 minutes, this gives you the pretty grill marks. Steaks will be medium, adjust the time if you like it differently cooked.
