Fettuccine Alfredo is my go to pasta when we go out for pasta. On our road trip last year I had it 4 times for supper. Had it plain, with crawfish, with shrimp, and with mushrooms. My wife doesn’t like alfredo sauce so the only time I have it at home is when I am having supper by myself, tonight is one of those suppers. Since I love shrimp figured I might as well have shrimp too. The recipe for the shrimp is already on the site. Alfredo sauce is really simple to make. Since I prefer Asiago cheese over parmigiana, it’s what I use. I break my fettuccine in 3 pieces, it allows for more sauce with each fork full. This is a one person recipe but you just need to multiply it for more people.
1 serving of fettuccine
1 and 1/2 cups half and half cream
1 cup grated Asiago
4 cloves garlic minced
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Cook fettuccine to package directions. While fettuccine is cooking preheat a frying pan to medium heat. Add butter, garlic, salt, and pepper, cook for 2 minutes while stirring. Add the half and half cream, reduce heat to simmer. Just before the fettuccine is cooked mix in the Asiago. Drain fettuccine and add to the pan. Mix for 1 minute, serve with shrimp on top.
